Description

Ahahah! No bookmarks for you, deviantArt!!

Sorry, guys but this one is for my project. I sold them along with my posters. They were 5 cm x 15 cm. It was supposed to have a Ganondorf bookmark, but I got tired and lazy and left there... =w="

I got the textures from missnysha.deviantart.com/art/B… and the other one from pixiv. Thanks for sharing it!!

I haven't rated this highly in terms of stars, due to the fact....that well. The stars thingy doesn't really fit with this Deviation. So pay little attention to that.

I wouldn't call this a Critique, more like...Constructive Criticism.

I really like the overall feel and look of the two bookmarks, and they look really nice together. Good choice of Backgrounds too.

Right, I'm gunna pull you up on your shading a little. Link's torso looks very.....flat. There isn't enough volume and shading around the sides to give him a 3D look. And I know both the images aren't extremely 3D, but his torso seems to be especially flat for some reason.....Im probably not making any sense
I'd also try to add some more texture, at the moment everything looks as if it's made out of the same fabric (on Link). For example, if you use the Blur tool to blend the shading on the belts and the WaterColour Brush on the Tunic it'll create a slightly different texture without too much effort.

However! Zelda's shading is perfect. And the detailing on her is brilliant! Especially the armour, and the little gems. They look really good. And she seems a little less 2D....The detailing on Link is really good too, I like how you've bothered to include the chainmail (alot of people don't bother) and the stitching.

The overall anatomy sizing is very good. Everything is relatively in proportion. Though Link's shoulders are perhaps a little too wide and his left hand (our right) maybe a little small. But nothing major. Once again, Zelda's very well done. Though her arm with the Harp could do with being a little higher up, not much just a smidgen And i think the Hilt of The Master Sword is a little on the short side, but only a little.

But most importantly, the hands are brilliant! I envy you, I fail at hands, and these are perfect. Keep it up!

Their hair is fab, really well done on both of them.

One last little thing, the eyes don't seem to fit with the faces. They're just a little too large (they actually poke off the edges of the face, which is a little distracting). I kind of got stuck on the eyes when I first looked at the picture, which isn't really what you want. So maybe think about that in your next piece. But keep the pupils the same, the colouring on them is perfect. Honestly.

Overall, a really good fanart. And they'll make great bookmarks (and I'd love to see Ganon in there~ ). And i like the way Link's playing his Ocorina and Zelda her Harp, it adds a unity too the two pieces. So, they'd look great apart and also as a set. Which is perfect.

Keep up the good work, and maybe have a look at some tutorials on shading to create a more 3Dish effect.

I hope this has been a little bit of help.

Love the picture~
Good luck!
