Happy new year, everybody! Another year goes by! It's time to do that periodic summary of the year! While making it I noticed how much I tried this year even though the amount of drawings dropped. Trying times. Trying different styles, different color pallets etc. So here goes!
January - Hey...
I was on vacations. Such beautiful vacations. At the time I was just doodling in small squares in my PC. I liked a lot of the result of this one because the colors used, kinda reminded me old games.February - Let's get this over with.
I was trying to finish my old sketchbook, I really liked the result of this one. The well-defined lines kinda atracted me.March - A Sacred Moment
I officiallly started to use watercolors! They still are pretty confusing to me. XD But I like this piece a lot!April - Inluster Caecilius
I was doing my assignments from my digital illustration classes. This one was for creatures assignment -check the full image- his name is Cecil. I was studying Yoshitaka Amano's style and had a lot of fun doing this specific piece.May - Otterman - Bartz Klauser
More assignments for digital illustration classes, this one is the Otterman challenge. We received an otter base and we had to draw a costume for it. We had many creepy/epic/fun otters. XDJune - .:no more:.
This was the last assignment for illustration classes. Previously we had to create a hunter for the creature developed before and this last work involved a scene when the hunter encounters the creature.July - Aw, yeah!
Vacations sweet vacations. I participated in some group events one of them being a Kid Icarus themed contest. I really liked the result due to the color pallet that worked pretty well. I received many good comments on this one too. (Also, I accepted my position as Undertale trash.)August - ~out of here~
Holy cow! Supergiant Games just announced their new project! -Pyre- I was so hyped with the trailer that I created these two OCs while listening to the trailer's song. I liked to use its curious concept of everyone using masks.September - Room concept
Back to university I was full of things to do. I almost didn't draw digitally that time, but I had this very cool room concept that I did based on a fun briefing that my Art Direction professor gave us. I used a stronger color pallet and I'm very satisfied with the result.October - Female Monk
I was so busy with my course that I almost didn't have the time to draw. The only exceptions were for university assignments. This one was for Art Direction class when we had to reimagine a certain game's visual. Since it was mobile, I wanted to use a more chibi and cartoon-y style due to the limited space and resolution.
November October again - Enough of child's play
November is the month that I really have no time to draw for myself (due to university), so here is another watercolor drawing of my design of Royce Bracket. It's from the time I tried joining Inktober, but in the end I couldn't keep the pace.December - Fabulous Partners
In the second half of December I entered on vacations, so I used all the free time I had to compensate the period I couldn't draw. I went back to my Undertale trash state because I finally did the
This year I noticed that cell-shading is the style I can relate more. Due to my newly discovered liking to cartoon style (probably because Steven Universe and other games that I enjoyed in the past). Someone also told me it's more memorable like this. I also noticed that I like to work with sunset pallet or contrasting colors. Well, I can say that this year I'll be working on it, then.
Oh, this summary I focused more on original works. But here are some pieces that prove my Undertale obsession and other works that I'm very proud of too!
